Unseen Bonds

A police K-9 unit was called to locate an old man who had disappeared. This man, who was dealing with health issues had ventured out for a morning stroll prompting a search effort. The task assigned to the dog was to track the man’s path, which led into a challenging forest area.
However, nothing seemed impossible for that dog.
Guided by his handler the dog was directed to the spot where the man was last spotted. By sniffing both on the ground and in the air the dog successfully traced the man’s scent. Guiding through vegetation and towering trees they pressed forward with urgency.
The handler remained nearby encouraging the dog while vigilantly scanning their surroundings. Eventually reaching a clearing the dog let out a bark as a signal. It was there that they discovered the figure of the man lying on the ground.
Approaching cautiously the dog pressed at the man’s hand with its nose in hopes of any sign of life. Sadly it became evident that he had passed away. The dog felt unsettled and sorrowful about how things had turned out during their mission. Understanding his companion’s emotions the handler comforted him in their shared sorrow, over this outcome.
